New Partner: ‘CoachDP’

Welcome CoachDP!

We are pleased to announce the partnership with Niklas “CoachDP” Poulsen.

Coach brings a wealth of experience in regards to streaming, which he has done for the past 3 years. Today he is a vivid CS:GO streamer which he started back in December 2019. Before that he was playing and streaming Fortnite but found Counter-Strike to be more engaging and competitive. Coach now has 7.000 hours in CS:GO and is ranked Global Elite with an ELO of 2.400.

Coach has started his own CS:GO team in combination with a new streaming concept, where viewers can join in and learn about how it is to play CS on a higher level. Catchii and GamerPay are proudly supporting this initiative.

We sat down with Coach to further talk and learn about his passion for CS:GO and streaming. Below Coach further elaborates on topics about streaming, pro players and of course skins.

What’s the best thing about streaming?

Sharing my thoughts and passion with people. I love to think of my stream as a place that forces me to stay true to myself and what I believe in. I want to be real with people and my stream prohibits me from just looking good on Instagram and Twitter, because streaming is real, it’s real emotions and real experiences. Also getting to know people - I think every streamer would say - is a big part of the charm.

Coach fondly tells us that reaching Faceit level 10 is the happiest streaming moment.

Why did you start a CS:GO team?

I’ve always been competitive. It's what basically motivates every aspect of my life - competing with others and improving. First goal in CS:GO was to get a level on Faceit. I then just wanted to keep improving in every aspect and as soon as I got a team offer, I knew that was the best way to challenge my competitive needs. I started my own team, because I believe I can be a good leader and a good IGL. Having my own team made sense, because I would be in charge of how things were done, plus I could stream practice and matches for the people interested. And I love the idea, that my attitude towards conflicts, improving and dynamics on the team, would be something other people could see and hopefully learn from.

Top 3 CS:GO Players

Being a relatively new comer to CS:GO, we wanted hear Coach’s take on his top 3 CS:GO players and why choosing these.

Being relatively new to the game, my ideas of the top 3 CS:GO players is pretty oriented about results within the last 3-4 years. I will go with:

Device

He’s the most successful player of all time. He did everything and he did it with style. He was never known for being flashy, but for being consistent. I’ve always valued success on a team higher than individual performance and that’s why he is above s1mple in this category for me.

Gla1ve

An IGL is impossible to rate because you can never fully grasp the amount of impact he has.
Gla1ve is to me so impressive, because he always worked hard, he took the team to new levels and is the most successful IGL ever to play.

I could put any Astralis player here because they all were part of the success. Gla1ve just made sense, because everyone else made the top 20 list year after year, where he barely made it once. None of them ever focused on being famous or praised, they just wanted to be the best. They were never arrogant about it either.

I love Karrigan as well. And there is an argument to be made for him as well. But Gla1ve is for me the most successful IGL to this day. Being the best IGL on the server is a question that most people probably can’t answer.

s1mple

The GOAT of Counter-Strike. The best to ever do it, individually. The things he can do seem inhuman. His mechanical level is insane. His read on his opponents and confidence to abuse their gaps is unheard of. He consistently finds gaps against the greatest teams in the world. He doesn’t shy away from anything.

And the human change he’s gone through shows to everyone that you can be the best ever at something and still remain humble. They took in B1t as a young prodigy and he personally helped with his development. Insane.

You got the chance to join the official PGL major and cast with Wonderbai. How was it and what was your best memory?

I didn’t really know that I loved casting before I started it. And joining one of my good friends for basically the greatest CS:GO tournament in the last 2-3 years was amazing.

The best part of it was to be acknowledged as someone, who was insightful and interesting enough to actually entertain and inform people (who are all huge CSGO fans) watching in the twitch chat. After that week I knew that I wanted to pursue a career doing this.

Coach’s favorite CS:GO skin

I'm a big fan of player-stickered skins, with personalized name tags etc. It makes the skins personal and unique. However, if I had to pick my favorite skin, it would probably be the Butterfly vanilla. Butterfly is the best knife, no doubt. The vanilla is clean and a solid investment.

If I'm allowed to be a bit unrealistic, I would love to own a
Gungnir or Wild Lotus. Those artworks are simply beautiful.

5 quick questions

1 - Cat or Dog - why?
Neither. I hate pets. I think they are a waste of energy. People will hate me now, but it's okay.

2 - What is your favorite none-FPS game?
League of Legends. Insanely skill based game that includes many of the team aspects in CS:GO as well. Played it for 7 years.

3 - What are you spending your time with, when not streaming?
My girlfriend, friends that I’ve met in the game, the gym, commentating CS:GO currently doing some casts on Danish Television.

4 - A fun fact about you we should know.
If I choke on my food I always sneeze afterwards. No exception. My mom does it as well.

5 - Who is your favorite streamer?
I need to name a few. SondergaardLol is my most recent love. He is real, he is incredibly entertaining, and he is not focused on money or monetizing. He just wants to have a good time. Zrool is nice as well. I love competitive Fortnite and he always welcomes people with open arms. Wonderbai, Jaxstyle, Elokratz, Zipelcs are all interesting to watch as well.

Expectations to the GamerPay partnership

I expect the advantages to be mutual. That we are in an actual working relationship, where it's not all about the numbers, but also about building something we believe in. I also love skins, I love the idea of safe transactions etc.

Spending time talking to ZukwiZ /Morten has been amazing. Sharing the passion and coming up with ideas together. Developing and motivating each other; it's so good.

Of course, numbers and money also play a role, and I’m always focused on results. I just know that good results come from a good environment. And my partnership with GamerPay is a good environment for me to further improve.

As a closer; anything clever, nice or fun you want to tell us or your fans?

I don’t know if I have fans. I generally think of myself as more of a man, with a lot of acquaintances. If I run into someone on the street, usually they talk to me, like they know me. Keep doing that.

It feels a lot more valuable than trying to create some weird gap between me and other people, so they feel like I’m someone unreachable, that they have to “be a fan of” instead of an acquaintance.

Coach will over the sommer be focusing on taking his team to new hights as well as further work on his casting skills. He will be joining VNG on the Danish TV2 to do more casting work, and we look forward following him.
