CS2 Update: Changes and Season 3!

CS2 Update, Changes and Premier Season 3 I CS2 Update I GamerPay Blog

In this update, we have had quite a lot of commotion. Now it is time to take a look at what changed in Counter-Strike 2, the Gameplay perspective and what the new Season, Premier Season 3, brings to the table!

The Season 3 Medal

Similar to the Season 2 medal, the colour of the medal will correspond to the highest CS Rating achieved during the season, and the bars will reflect the total wins, with one bar for every 25 (up to five bars). To be eligible for a medal, the player will need 25 Premier match wins and an active CSR at the end of the season.

Map Changes

With the new season comes an update to the Active Duty Map Pool:

Anubis, a beloved Counter-Strike 2 map set in Egyptian ruins, has been removed.
And Overpass, the iconic map set in Germany, takes its place.

Gameplay changes

Season 3 changes quite a few things from the gameplay perspective.
Most of these changes seem to be helping the CT-side, as MMR 12 has been kinda though on them.

Fire from the incendiary grenade now spreads faster, occupying space rapidly to counter rushing Ts. This is to deter the meta of just rushing through CT fire grenades, as they do less damage initially than the T’s variant.

There's also a change to the CT economy: win or lose, CTs now receive a shared team award for each T eliminated in the round! This reward is around 50$ per kill, if your Team plays careful and kill all of the enemies, that is at least 250$, even if you yourself did not secure a frag.

BUT
The MP9 has gotten a bit of a nerf, with a harder to control spray and substantially less jumping accuracy.
