iCloud Hack on Steam

What is the iCloud hack?

When talking about iCloud hack in regards to Steam, the iCloud hack is a hack of your iCloud account and thereby a hack of your iCloud backup. In the iCloud backup, enough data from your Steam app is stored for hackers to be able to clone and duplicate your Steam app. This includes your Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, which essentially means your whole account has been compromised.

What to do if you have been iCloud hacked?

If you have experienced the iCloud hack, these are the steps we advise you to take in order to get control of your account once again.

  • Change your iCloud password.

  • Delete your iCloud backup for the Steam app. You can find the steps for this below or by pressing this link.

  • Check your Recent Login History.

  • Change your Steam password by going to Account Details, find the section Account Security, and pressing Change my password.

  • Remove your Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator by going to Account Details, find the section Account Security, and pressing Manage Steam Guard. NOTE: You will not be able to trade for 15 days.

  • Revoke your Steam Web API key by going to this link and pressing Revoke My Steam Web API Key.

  • Deauthorize devices by going to Account Details, find the section Account Security, and pressing Manage Steam Guard. Once there, press Deauthorize all other devices.

We advise you to add the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator again once you have completed all the steps above.
