GamerPay’s new P2P skin trading system and safety

Intro

The new trading update rolled out by Valve had every player and site owner on the edge.
With endpoints being defacto disabled, and the “10-day” visibility ban on items a lot of CS sites and marketplaces were faced with both uncertainties and issues.

Following recent changes to the Steam API by Valve, we've come up with a new P2P trading system here at GamerPay. For buying and selling check out this article!

To bring you closer to what changed and why we want to take this route, please read the full article.

The New P2P Trading System

GamerPay stands for transparency, safety and anti-scam. Therefore, we have further build upon our existing and successful P2P (peer-to-peer) system. We believe that our approach, offering a P2P system, is the best and safest solution for people wanting to buy, sell and trade skins.

Let’s jump into how it works!

Is GamerPay still safe?

GamerPay is just as safe as always. We have a 100% money-back guarantee*.
This means that if you don’t get what you expect, your money or item will return to you.

Note that GamerPay does not rely on bots, nor do we use any form of Steam session hijacking or take your access token.

*Remember that you need to dispute in due course.

How to buy on GamerPay?

Buying a skin is still very simple. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a purchase on GamerPay.

  1. Find your new favourite item. Buy via credit card or Wallet (you can top up your balance with a bank, card, or crypto). Until Seller has sent the item, GamerPay will safely hold the money.

  2. Wait for the Seller to create the trade offer.

  3. Check that the Seller sends the correct item(s). Accept the Steam trade offer.

  4. Confirm you got the item(s). Enjoy your new item!

How to sell on GamerPay?

By using GamerPay you, as a seller, will keep your CS2 items and skins in your Steam inventory.
As a seller, there are also a few steps you need to remember.

  1. List your items under Sell.

  2. When you get a sale, process the whole trade via GamerPay.

  3. Make the Steam trade (make sure to check it’s the correct item(s) and confirm on the Steam Mobile app)

  4. Confirm you’ve sent the item(s) on GamerPay.

  5. Wait for the Buyer to accept your offer. Enjoy your money!

What happens if you get a dispute?

We would like to mention, that the majority of trades go smoothly and without any problems. Those who encounter problems will have their trade go into manual review (so remember to dispute if you encounter a problem).

The Buyer can dispute the trade.
When a dispute takes place GamerPay will hold Buyer’s money until the case is resolved.

Both parties will possibly have to provide evidence that they sent/received the item. This will often be easy to determine as either or both parties just send a simple video recording of their inventory history.

Additional safety points

GamerPay is just as safe as it has always been. Furthermore, we have a 100% money-back guarantee (that is, if you dispute your transaction and we determine an issue with it).

This means that if you do not get what you expect, your money or item will return to you.
Note that GamerPay does not rely on bots, nor do we use any form of Steam session hijacking or take your access token.

Our system is probably the safest there is, as we do not need to take control of your account in any way, shape or form. Your account, credentials etc. stay solely with you.

Conclusion

We hope this article helped you better understand how our new P2P system works and how we, in a safe way, operate. Transparency is one of our priorities.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to us via Twitter/X or our Discord.

As a closer we want to highlight that we use a P2P model, where your items stay in your inventory until they sell.

We seriously mind your privacy and the safety of your account and skins. We don’t overcharge on any fee. GamerPay still has some of the lowest fees (3% selling and average 3% buyer fees).
