Skins For Charity

Today we would like to talk to you about a noble cause, Skins For Charity.

”The purpose of Skins For Charity (SFC), is to bring this amazing community of CSGO players, traders, and everyone in between, together to do something incredible for others.” so Tonic, the CO-founder of Skins For Charity.

What it is, how it works, and how you might be able to join in and help will be explained in this article!

What is Skins For Charity?

Skins For Charity is, like the name implies, your CS:GO skins to help a charity.

You can send your skins to SFC and they will then auction off your item on their Twitter page.
100% of the proceeds are donated to either a cause of your choosing or if you did not have anything in mind the people behind SFC will pick a charity.

It is a simple way to donate your overflowing inventory for a good cause.

As an example, they have auctioned off an AK-47 | Legion of Anubis with 4x VP MLG holos, an M4A4 | Radiation Hazard with an FNATIC Katowice 2014 on the best positioning, and even the #1 lowest float Souvenir Galil AR | Cold Fusion!

How does it work?

“The way we do that is by either supplying skins of our own or taking in donations of skins from members of the community. We then take those skins and put them up for auction via SFC’s Twitter.

These auctions typically run for 24 hours, and once completed, the winner pays their highest bid, gets their respective skin(s), and 100% of the proceeds are donated to charity.” -Tonic

As this is a community matter, SFC has said that the donator can also set a timer for his item. It should be in a reasonable time frame, though.

Is it safe?

Do not be alarmed- they always post proof of the money being sent to the corresponding charity!
It is safe and your money goes where it is supposed to go!

Donators send them their item and bidders, who win the auction, of course, get the item after the trade-lock is over.

When did they start and how much money have they raised?

“We officially hosted our first auction on the 3rd of Feb 2023 (Australian time zone) and to date have raised USD 700 to various charities.” - Tonic

Their goal was to donate $1000 by March 1st.

Let us together beat their donation goal and show them what a good month March is!

What kind of items is SFC looking for?

They are accepting all kinds of donations, as long as it is in a price range that people want to bet on it. The larger the value and the more sought after an item is, the more revenue it generates for the charity, which they and the donator appreciate.

In an interview, Tonic told us that he prefers to see crafts go up for auction, as they always rile people up and get them excited to start bidding, all for the benefit of a charity of course!

How is the feedback so far?

“The feedback has been nothing but positive!

We've had multiple members of the community reach out to us and donate skins for us to auction. Those that have won the said auctions have been very happy to know that their purchase contributes to helping those in need.” -Tonic

We are certain that SFC will get more donations shortly because it is a very good and virtuous mission. The resonance by the community also has been just great, and a bit shy of a month and they already have collected $600+ for charities!

What is your favorite part about SFC?

“My favorite part about SFC would be the communities involvement this soon into the project :)” - Tonic

The people behind SFC have done quite a handful of auctions out of their own pocket to get the rock rolling.
They did not expect the community to step in so soon, it was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!

With how fast and plentifully the CS:GO community reacted to help and donate their skins for a good cause, we are sure to make a good example!

What does SFC expect from the GamerPay partnership?

“I think the partnership will be a great way to bring more light to the project, as the more people who know about it, the better!” -CJ

”Ideally, I would like to see the partnership between GP and SFC include skin/item donations to help raise even more money for charity as well as spreading more awareness about our project which would ultimately result in greater community support as that is very important to me.” -Tonic

Conclusion

We all are united by our love for CS:GO and its skins, and together with SFC we can achieve something great and donate to a charity of your choosing.

So if you have some sticker crafts that you do not use anymore, some old trade-up items that you forgot about, or maybe one of your plenty of other CS:GO items that you simply do not need, why not do something good and donate them to charity?
