The CS2 Steam Workshop

Have you wondered what the Workshop can hold for you?
From Skins, you can vote on, to maps that you can play on.

The CSGO workshop held unlimited fun mapping-wise: Aim maps, normal maps reimagined, without borders and barriers, hide and seek with friends or just some silly maps!
Our Counter-Strike community’s workshop has something for everyone!

The die-hard pro, the casual and the just-for-fun gamers.

We have to thank Counter-Strike 2 and the new Hammer 2 editor. From now on Workshop maps will be less restrictive, more creative and with more models and details than Source 1 could ever handle!

This article will briefly examine what the CS2 Steam workshop holds for us.
And we also suggest some of its amazing Maps to you! Not too many, if you want to experience
the Workshop to the fullest, you have to venture down it by yourself or with your pals.

Let us begin the fun!

How do I install maps?

Go to the “Workshop” ➯ Type in “Counter-Strike 2” ➯ go to “Browse” and then last but not least navigate to “Maps”.
Now you can find maps you like, click on them and then click the green “Subscribe” button.

How to open Workshop Maps in-game?

To open workshop maps in game you simply must, after installing them of course, go to “Play”, then you have to redirect to “Workshop Maps”. Now you simply have to click on the Workshop map you want to play,
here “crashz' Crosshair Generator v4, and then you can simply start it up!
It is as easy as that to start up Workshop maps.

Aim & Training Maps

Do you want to become better at Counter-Strike?
A lot of what you need you can learn when you train, train, train!

Nobody is born a master- it takes perseverance and determination to improve.
What a lot of people do (myself included) is to use “Aim maps” or “Train Maps”.
Here are a few of the best examples of Aim/Training maps for CS2.

By far the most well-known and helpful aim maps are
Aim Botz - Aim Training (CS2) by “Mr. uLLeticaL™-S” and
CSStats Training Map (CSGOHUB) by ESLGaming”. Install them today and train on them.

You will improve your Aim and not be at the bottom of the leaderboard anymore!

Crosshair maps

A big part of Counter-Strike is the crosshair. Every player has an individual style they prefer.
What is your style?
It took me quite a lot of figuring out, but thanks to the Crosshair maps in the Workshop I made something I really like and still use, even after 3 years.

A right, comfortable crosshair is vital for playing well and confidently. And thanks to “crashz and his map crashz' Crosshair Generator v4, it is so easy to change your crosshair and get ones that actual Proplayers use!

Normal Maps

We also have some normal maps for you. Normal competitive/casual CS2 maps.
If you ever want to try out some new Maps or spice up an intern 5v5, try them!
We have picked the beloved Biome CS2 (featured in a previous CSGO Operation) by the talented “jd40”.

On the beautiful de_aurelia you can find some very lovely detail. It is quite a pretty map that “Serialmapper” has crafted up.
It is worth playing and testing out!

Hide and Seek

Hide and seek is always fun to play! Gather a few friends and download one of the many “Hide and Seek” maps and fun will ensue.

The Hide and Seek maps have been quite popular in the days of old, but it is always fun to play them with a group of friends or colleagues.

If you want you can play Hide and Seek in the Autumn House by “twyxe”.

Surf Surfing

Surf or Surfing has been part of CS history since Counter-Strike: Source. It was a highly popular mode in CS:GO, so it comes as no surprise that Surf once again makes a return!

Some people only play CS to surf, and who can blame them?
The highly addictive, easy-to-learn, hard-to-master game mode is exhilarating!

Just like competitive Counter-Strike, Surf has a high skill gap. (I am not good at surfing)

The first map is named surf_beginner, and the second screenshot is from surf_kitsune, both are made by “xen”.

1v1 maps

Did your friend talk shit last game? Are you looking for revenge?

With 1v1 maps you can! A big part of the collective Counter-Strike memory is to measure each other against your friends.
Let’s see who is better!
There are a lot of classic and iconic maps from older instalments returning, thanks to the beloved Workshop!
Play with your friend and your new skins on the freshly refurbished old maps.

Here is the CS2: 1v1 AIM MAP by “rammstein”

Or get a more rustical map, here the 1v1 - Remastered by “CsGoat”

Fun maps

If you are looking for a fun, silly and more casual experience, look no further!
There are a lot of silly maps that are just goofy and fun in itself.

Why not play on a Mini Version of competitive maps?
Or play on maps but they are rotated?

Nearly everything is possible with Hammer 2!

Why not play Dust 2 (rotated) by “DepoSit“?

Or why not play Only Up! (CS2) by “leander”?

Maps from other Games

If you are a big fan of other game series, like Call of Duty, you can also be satisfied!
There are a lot of Map creators that put well-loved Maps into the Source 2 format. They either port the map over (from existing CS:GO workshop entries) or they make on fully new all by themselves!
It is just a question of time till maps from famous franchises like Halo will be in the CS2 workshop.

So keep a keen eye out for YOUR favourite maps from different entries.

Map: Raid - Black Ops II by “adam gigablaster”.

Map: Nuketown 2025 - Black Ops II by “Absorbed”.

Conclusion

We hoped you liked to learn about the Maps and possibilities of the Counter-Strike 2 Workshop on Steam.

We would like to give a big THANK YOU to every Map creator and Workshop legend! You guys make the Workshop what it is. Be it cool Co-op maps, Maps that help you improve at the Game or simply just something that cheers you up and enlightens your day.
Thank you for the countless hours of fun we get out of your work.

If you want to get better, train your aim, or just goof around, all of the tools for that are in your hands.

Thank you for reading our article and try the maps out yourself.
